This lighthearted guide to great wine comes from City Winery, the fast-expanding music venue and winery that started in New York in 2009 and will be in three other cities (Chicago, Napa, and Nashville) by the end of 2014. By pairing American's growing interest in wine with their passion for music, City Winery has become a phenomenon in the entertainment world. The explosive growth in wine consumption and interest are being driven by baby boomers and Gen Xers who have embraced City Winery — which, in addition to being a leading music venue, also operates the only fully functioning urban wineries in the cities of New York and Chicago. With a staff of expert music and wine aficionados led by founder Michael Dorf, City Winery is in a unique position to apply that expertise to the art of pairing music and wine. There's no longer any need to limit pairing to wine and certain foods and cheeses. Why not enhance the wine experience with different varieties of favorite music, as well? This guide offers the opinions of City Winery experts to aid readers, listeners, and drinkers in the greater enjoyment of both.
