Summary

Roland, a university professor with thirty years of experience, receives a tribute book from his students and faculty colleagues for his sixtieth birthday, featuring the most important moments of his professional career. But the book is incomplete. No one knows about the person who inspired his studies and changed his way of seeing life. This is the story of his best-kept secret. In The Confusion of Sentiments, Stefan Zweig explores human passions and contradictions from a new angle and weaves a masterful narrative sustained by his elegant style and precision.
