Author Biography

DAVID D. VAN TASSEL, Hiram C. Haydn Professor of History at Case Western Reserve University, is President Emeritus of National History Day, Inc. He is the author or editor of several books, including Recording America's Past: An Interpretation of the Development of Historical Studies in America, 1607--1884. JOHN J. GRABOWSKI is Director of Planning and Research at the Western Reserve Historical Society. He has taught at Cuyahoga Community College, Kent State University, and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University.
