Supplemental Materials

What is included with this book?

  • The eBook copy of this book is not guaranteed to include any supplemental materials. Typically, only the book itself is included. This is true even if the title states it includes any access cards, study guides, lab manuals, CDs, etc.

This text serves as a resource and quick-reference guide for any course that demands technology skills. E-learning Companion shows students how to adapt previously mastered skills--such as time management, note-taking, and critical thinking--to the online environment.

The text also serves as a bridge for students who may be familiar with technologies such as real-time chats, online discussion boards, and e-mail as recreational tools, but have not learned how to apply these in a learning environment.

Students learn technical terminology and how to troubleshoot, which allows them to become more flexible and capable learners. The skills they gain will support them throughout college and their future careers. The Third Edition features thoroughly updated, expanded, and edited content to ensure that it remains relevant for today's college students.

"E-Learning Companion is a comprehensive learning tool that provides a foundation for all online learners. It is an invaluable reference book that all online learners should use throughout their studies".

"The E-Learning Companion is a supplemental text that would be a great addition to any online introductory course. The Companion addresses common concerns and roadblocks distance students typically encounter: time management / procrastination, technology issues, and online student-instructor relationships".

"The E-Learning Companion provides tutorials that cover several course management systems and operating systems, making it good for students, no matter what platform they are using".

Customer Reviews

very helpful March 19, 2011
I think this is a good book, easy to read, and has some great hints and strategies in it. It's probably good for the first time online learner. It really serves as a bridge for students who may be familiar with technologies such as real-time chats, online discussion boards, and e-mail as recreational tools, but have not learned how to apply these in a learning environment. The section on preparing your computer is also very helpful.
