Author Biography

James W. Cortada, Senior Research Fellow at the Charles Babbage Institute in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota, USA, has worked at IBM in various sales, consulting, management and executive positions from 1974 through 2012 across a dozen industries and with clients around the world. He is a member of the board of director of the IT History Society, made up of senior leaders in the IT industry. He is also a member of the editorial board of the IEEE Annals of the History of Computing, Information and Culture, and Library and Information History.
