Desde las historias de los últimos ejemplares más famosos, como la paloma Martha o George, el caracol más solitario del mundo, hasta las extintas más o menos conocidas, como el dodo y el tilacino, hasta las redescubiertas, como el sapo arlequín de la noche estrellada o la zarigüeya pigmea o de montaña, investigamos las causas de la extinción y descubrimos la maravillosa diversidad de animales que aún podemos salvar, como el ayé ayé, el duendecillo de Madagascar, o el inia, el delfín rosado del Amazonas. ¡Cada día se descubren nuevas especies y aún podemos hacer mucho para no perder lo que aún existe!
An exploration of the animal species we have lost and those we can still save. A very current theme, which is linked to the debate on environmental changes, but also to new genetic techniques. From the stories of the most famous last specimens, such as the dove Martha or George, the loneliest snail in the world, to the more or less known extinct, such as the dodo, the thylacine, up to the "rediscovered" ones such as the harlequin toad of the starry night or the pygmy or mountain opossum, we investigate the causes of extinction and discover the wonderful diversity of animals that we can still save, such as the ayé ayé, the Madagascar pixie, or the inia, the pink Amazon dolphin. Tía new species are discovered every day and we can still do a lot to not lose what is still there!
