Summary

May, 1921. Elena's confused childhood is the legacy which leaves her outwardly confident but inwardly troubled. She believes her mother to be Hermione, and is hurt by the fact that she shows an obvious dislike of her. When Elena starts asking awkward questions the reason becomes clear.
