Summary

Stephanie Alexander, twenty-six and miserable as a high profile corporate lawyer, tires of ghost deadlines and eighty-hour workweeks, throws in the towel like the impetuous girl she's never been and embarks on a wild adventure that is about to turn her life upside down. In search of fulfilling a childhood dream, she boards a plane and heads to Wimbledon, the most prestigious and glamorous Grand Slam tennis tournament. She leaves the courtroom and all traces of the real world behind. Escorted straight into the players' lounge, she trades in her business cards for an all-access-behind-the-velvet-ropes badge. Before she realizes, she's on Centre Court, not as a player, and not even as a coach, but as the soon-to-be-girlfriend of the stunning Sydney Foster, the former Number 1 ranked women's tennis player. One night of steamy passion quickly rolls into a turbulent love affair. Soon she's swept up into a world of wealth, power, and fame, and is in the foreign position of being a "professional girlfriend." It sounds like the life she'd dreamed of, but little does she know that she will soon become embroiled in a tumultuous love triangle. Stephanie's Ivy League education and bar admissions couldn't have prepared her for the tests she now faces in her quest for love. This is far from the life she envisions. All of a sudden, being a lawyer in the real world doesn't sound so bad after all.
