Hadrian’s Wall Path, 84 miles from end to end, follows the course of northern Europe’s largest surviving Roman monument, a 2nd-century fortification built – in the border country between England and Scotland – on the orders of the Emperor Hadrian in AD122.

Opened in 2003, the path crosses the beautiful border country between England and Scotland. It is the first National Trail to follow the course of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This week-long walk is regarded as one of the least challenging National Trails.

Author Biography

Henry Stedman is a walker of considerable experience, having hiked in many parts of Europe, Asia and Africa, and he has been writing guidebooks for more than 15 years. He's the author and co-author of six other guides from Trailblazer: Dales Way, Kilimanjaro, Dolomites Trekking, Coast to Coast Path, Exmoor & North Devon Coast Path and Dorset & South Devon Coast Path.

Daniel McCrohan is a veteran travel writer who has written articles, television scripts, travel apps, and more than 25 guidebooks to destinations ranging from Chittagong to Chengdu. He has been living in China for more than a decade and specialises in writing about Asia, but he is from the UK, and relishes any opportunity he gets to explore his homeland, especially if it means another chance to go camping!Daniel has updated two other Trailblazer British Walking Guides: Cornwall Coast Path and Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
