This comedic expose traces Jamie Reidy's experiences from Pfizer training to life as a drug rep during the launch of Viagra. Having joined the Pfizer team in 1995 after taking an early leave from the US military, it didn't take him long to learn the tricks of the trade as he developed a "T to T" scheduleTuesday to Thursday, ten to two. Promoted up the ranks to Viagra salesman, Jamie became an instant celebrity known as "The V-Man" in his territory, eventually becoming Pfizer's top sales rep in the country. With equal parts of self-confidence and self-mockery, he tells it like it is as a drug rep for the giant pharmaceutical manufacturer, taking the reader on a hilarious romp and revealing the controversial side of drug industry marketing and sales. A witty, behind-the-scenes look at an industry that touches everyone in America who has a prescription, Hard Sell uncovers truths about the pharmaceutical industry you'd rather not know and practices you like to believe are never employed.
