Excerpts

I Need Your Courage A Letter to Heaven Dear Father, It's your child again, needing you as always. I am writing you about something I need help with but I'm ashamed toadmit. Especially to you whosefearlessness is legendary and whose steps have never known retreat. I am feelingafraid. I'm not even sure what itis I'm afraid of but it certainly is real. Maybe it's the uncertainty of the future or even my failures of thepast. It could be the deeper senseof responsibility I'm felling for friends and family. I'm apprehensive about letting down those I love most. You see, they have expectations of me I'm not sure I can deliver. I'm fearful I won't meet my own expectations, let aloneothers. I have heard the stories about how you have led the chargein situations that others considered a lost cause. How you have strengthened the legs of the timid and restoredhonor and promise to those who have fled in fear. I don't want to be afraid any longer. I want to live a courageous life but I need to hear from you. Only yourWords of courage and confidence will renew my strength and stiffen my resolvefor today's trials and tomorrow's testings. Your Child Who Needs Courage A Letter from Heaven Dear Child, I'm glad you came to me about this. I want you to be strong and courageous, not afraid or terrified byanything or anyone because I go with you wherever you go. I will never leave you or forsake you. I'll say it again, I am out in front of you, going before you, I willnever leave you or fail you, so you do not have to be afraid or discouraged.(Deut. 31: 6, 8) You do not need tofear disgrace, or be afraid of humiliation, and believe me, you will forget theshame of your past. (Isaiah 54: 4) Ihave rescued you, called your name, and made you mine. Whether you are walking through waters or crossing rivers you will notdrown. Even when you face afirestorm you remain unharmed. (Isaiah 43: 1-3) I will make you strong and will help you. I will support you with my right hand that rescues you. I will grasp your right hand, so you do not need to be afraid. (Isaiah 41: 10-13) Remember,I did not give you a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, love andself-discipline. (II Tim 1:7) Your Caring Father
