STEVEN D. PRICE is the author of fourteen books on equestrian subjects, including the best-selling The Whole Horse Catalog, The Quotable Horse Lover (page TK), The American Quarter Horse (page TK), and Essential Riding (page TK). His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Travel & Leisure, Chronicle of the Horse, Practical Horseman, and America's Horse. He lives in New York.

DON BURT has earned a reputation as one of the foremost judges, lecturers, and clinicians in the country, and has officiated at the National and World Championships for every major breed of horse. He is the past president of the American Quarter Horse Association, as well as an author, a monthly columnist for Quarter Horse Journal, and a freelance writer for numerous equestrian periodicals. Don and his wife Ardys live in Portuguese Bend, California.
