Summary

It was time for Little Mouse to go out into the world and find a home of her own. Her mother gave her a delicious piece of wheat for breakfast, then she hugged her, and wished her good luck. Little Mouse walked for a long time. She asked the flowers if they knew of an empty house, but they paid no attention to her. She asked the snail and the rabbit, but they were no help either. Little Mouse was about to give up when she saw a house-a real house that could be filled with danger: a cat, traps smelling of delicious cheese, a mouse-eating owl in the attic. But Little Mouse decided to take her chances. And there, on a table, was a picture of a house. How Little Mouse uses courage and quick wits to turn that picture into the perfect house for a mouse is a wonderfully satisfying story that's loaded with charm.

Author Biography

Jean-C(me NoguFs was born in Castelnaudary, France, where he now lives. He studied modern literature and taught at a college in Paris. He has written many children's books published in France. This is his first book for North-South.
