In the eastern Mediterranean—on the west coast of Turkey, facing the Greek islands of Lemos and Patmos, close to Bodrum, the ancient Halicarnassus, atop a headland 450 feet above sea level—a new building is constructed. This book unveils the process of creation of the Kaplankaya Clubhouse, from its initial ideas to the development of construction, a timeless structure, seeking both the essence of abstraction in modern architecture confronted with the use of local construction techniques and materials, and its intense relationship with the Mediterranean landscape and light.
