The primary antagonist is Bustamonte's enforcer, Adolfo, a tall, slender, grim-faced man around 40, with black hair, a dark tan complexion and humorless black eyes. Adolfo is a veteran of many battles and is highly skilled with both gun and knife.
William and George strive to rescue hostages and end the careers of Bustamonte and Adolfo. The climax of the story is a personal battle between William and Adolfo.
