Summary

After spending more than four and a half million years trying to fix the flaws in the world He created, God decides to take a short, well-deserved rest. When He leaves His son Jesus in charge, everything seems to be right on track; it is the beginning of the Renaissance, and the works of Copernicus, Michaelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci have convinced God that it was worthwhile to create human beings. Four hundred years later, God returns to find His precious creation ruined by greed, corruption, and a sick obsession with celebrities--and it's all His son's fault. As a punishment for Jesus's negligence, God sends Him down to Earth to straighten things out. From the misfit gang of disciples He collects to His attempt to win a reality show competition, Jesus's adventures during His second coming are chronicled in this offbeat novel.
