Summary

Author Biography

Elizabeth Peters is the pseudonym of author Barbara Mertz, who holds a PhD in Egyptology from the prestigious Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago. Over the course of her fifty-year career, she wrote more than seventy mystery and suspense novels, as well as several non-fiction works, including three on Egypt. She received numerous awards as a writer, including Grandmaster and Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Mystery Writers of America, Malice Domestic, and Bouchercon. In 2012, she received the inaugural Amelia Peabody Award, created in her honor, at the Malice Domestic Convention. She passed away in 2013.
