Summary

Globalization has been touted as the driving force behind the dynamism of Pacific Asian, and particularly Southeast Asian, economies. Indeed, globalization has, in recent years, become a preoccupation of academic, business and political debate across the world. The aim of this book is to contribute a theoretically-informed but empirically detailed account of the multiple dimensions of globalization processes as they are being socially constructed and materially experienced in the Philippines of the 1990s.
