A girl bursting with imagination and enthusiasm, Jane is condemned to live a quiet life in Toronto with her timid mother and tyrant of a grandmother. Her father is dead and as she contemplates the moon in the sky every night, she daydreams of moving away from her grandmother’s house. One day, Jane is shocked to learn that her father is in fact alive and well, living far away in a house called Lantern Hill on Prince Edward Island.
