This biographical profile presents all of Letizia Ortiz’ strengths and contradictions: her relentless search for perfection, continuous dissatisfaction with herself, her eagerness to control everything, but also her drive, audacity, and rebellion. The life of the woman who in less than ten years went from living in a small apartment in Madrid to becoming a television host and at last becoming princess and queen of Spain. After five years and more than a hundred interviews, Leonardo Faccio dissects the personality of this queen, a journalist who renounced her profession but not her personal battles to become part of a monarchy in crisis that wants to modernize itself in order to survive.

Author Biography

Leonardo Faccio (Buenos Aires, 1971). Es periodista y fotógrafo. Colabora en medios de América y Europa. Premiado con mención de honor por la Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano de Gabriel García Márquez, es uno de los cronistas incluidos en la antología Lo mejor del periodismo de América Latina, editada por la FNPI y el Fondo de Cultura Económica. Ha sido editor asociado de la mítica revista Etiqueta Negra. Su primer libro, Messi. El chico que siempre llegaba tarde [Y hoy es el primero], editado por Debate, ha sido traducido a quince idiomas. Vive en Barcelona.
