Author Biography

Angela Ca rter (1940-û1992) published her first novel, Shadow Dance, in 1966 and was immediately recognized as one of Britain-'s most original writers. Charles Perrault (1628-û1703), a member of the Acad+¬mie Fran+ºaise, published his fairy tales anonymously in the 1690s. Jack Zipes is a specialist in folklore, fairy tales, and children-'s literature at the University of Minnesota. He has introduced the Penguin Classics editions of Peter Pan, Pinocchio, and The Wonderful World of Oz.
