Excerpts

I would like to celebrate the BBB's excellence. They are excellent in their response to the Spirit while they play. It is not unusual to see some of the band-men lower their instruments as they personally wept and worshipped as others continued playing. Their zeal and enthusiasm for the Lord is unmatched. Their natural skills and determination are reflected and enhanced by their discipline and training. They have what we would normally call "raw talent" or "true giftedness." They are also excellent in dress and appearance when in their stellar uniforms. This overall excellence represents an attitude my wife and I have noted among the Bahamians across the years: They do things well and are a small nation among the newer independent nations that have set high standards and have sought to maintain them. As much as may be said, no words can fully capture either the history or the contributions of the Bahama Brass Band. May God's blessings be continually upon them, upon the church in The Bahamas, and upon the beautiful Bahamian nation! It is truly "Better in The Bahamas!" Bishop Adrian Varlack- International COGOP Historian.
