Summary

This little volume (the result of meditation and experience) is not intended as an exhaustive treatise on the much-written upon subject of the power of thought. Your thoughts and your dreams determine what you are and what you will be. This little book is meant to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception of the truth that they themselves are makers of themselves, by virtue of the thoughts which they choose and encourage.

Author Biography

James Allen was born in Leicester, England, in 1864. He took his first job at fifteen to support his family, after his father was murdered while looking for work in America in 1879. Allen worked as a private secretary with various manufacturing companies until he left to devote himself fully to writing. He published his first book, From Poverty to Power in 1901, and then moved to Ilfracombe, England, where he went on to write eighteen more books before his death in 1912. As a Man Thinketh, published in 1903, is his second and best-known book.
