Summary

The journey that begins this striking and exceedingly beautiful novel will change the lives of the three women travelers forever. In particular, Maria’s journey continues as she comes of age and learns about the world of men. The trip is long and terrifying at times, and Maria’s love for others—but also her survival instinct—will turn out to be indispensable.
