William C. Davis has written or edited more than 40 books on the Civil War and Southern history, including, most recently, Three Roads to the Alamo and Lincoln's Men. Twice a Pulitzer Prize finalist, he is former publisher of the magazine Civil War Times, and was elected a Fellow of the Society of American Historians in 1999. He is Director of Programs at the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies, and isa professor of history at Virginia Tech.
