Author Biography

Dr. Joseph H. Koo has 26 years of industrial and academic experience in program and engineering management. Currently, he is a Research Scientist in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas, Austin, TX, where he is the Chairman of the newly established SAMPE Nanotechnology Committee. He specializes in polymer nanostructured materials: processing, characterization, and applications; flammability of polymeric materials; modeling of high-temperature composites and fire protective polymers; and qualification of materials for thermal and fire protection applications. Dr. Koo has published over 140 papers in materials, thermal, and optical science disciplines in various journals.
