Author Biography

Jim Noonan, aka Professor Figgy, is a tried-and-true New Englander raised in Westerly, RI, where he experienced some of the most striking weather in the world. Inspired by Mr. Rogers and Mr. Wizard, he developed a passion for science and creativity at a young age.

Jim studied theatre and chemistry at Dartmouth College and received an acting MFA from the Yale School of Drama. As a crafter at The Martha Stewart Show, Jim brought his love of science to on-air appearances with Martha herself, while developing Professor Figgy’s Fabulous Science Kits, a line of educational, crafting kits for kids. After 15 years working in NYC for clients like Ralph Lauren, Scholastic, and “The Chew,” he started his own creative projects business.

Jim lives in Brooklyn with his husband, and when he’s not hard at work formulating new kits or busy crafting, he likes to escape to the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York.
