Summary

The aim of the book will be to provide 20 easy yet imaginative designs covering a range of animals, including cats, dogs, sheep, a hippopotamus, a fox, giraffes and an alpaca. The market tends to favor the cute and whimsical rather than weird and wacky, but the overall aim will be to provide designs that will attract the traditional quillers looking for new ideas as well as provide inspiration for the new breed of quillers looking for something a little different. The 20 designs in the book will include three-dimensional designs, and each project will include elements that are variations on the central theme. All of the projects are mounted on subtle, pastel-colored card and include small details such as grass, flowers, a tree trunk etc. The focus will be on the quilled designs themselves rather than how they can be used, though some of the projects lend themselves to greetings cards, and picture frames.

Diane specializes in miniature quilling (working with strips 2mm wide or less) and is known for her meticulous, detailed work and imaginative designs. She is the author of Miniature Quilling (publ. August 2007) and Quilled Greetings Cards (publ. May 2005).
