FINISH ME A BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF HOW GOD WILL MOVE YOU FROM A GOOD START TO AN EVEN GREATER FINISH AND HOW TO PROTECT GOD's 'FINISHED ' INVESTMENT. BY: KEVIN A. JOHNSON I wish to dedicate this book to the awesome Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. He supplied the vision and insight for every page of this book. He has made it possible for every 'Unfinished Sinner' to have complete access to an 'All-Powerful Finishing God'. I also wish to dedicate this book to all of you who will read this written Revelation of an awesome God who can finish greatness within you and then instruct you how to guard what He has finished. It is my sincere desire that you will allow God to make you a 'Finished Work' of Heavenly and Spiritual Art. As he began to run the soft paintbrush over the rough canvass, making the paint seem to come to life, he stopped and then covered up the work that he had done. When the model saw him do this, she asked if he was finished. She assumed that just because he had covered up his painting, that he must have been finished. The artist, laughing within himself as he turned to respond to her question, told her that just because something was covered up did not mean that it was finished. He further told her that the reason why He chose to cover the unfinished piece of art was that it would protect the parts that were finished, until the whole work was completed. God is just like the artist in this story. He has a finished plan for our lives and keeps us covered enough, so that he can safely finish His design for us and within us. When we were sinners, He gave us a grace covering that kept us safe until He could reach us with His life-changing Gospel. Then when we accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, He covered us with a new and living spirit-formed life: giving us time to learn how to live out all that He has placed within us. He is constantly painting on canvass of our unfinished lives; and then covering those areas upon which He has already artistically spread His supernatural paint, in order to protect them from damage until the whole work of art is complete. This allows us to realize that we are not yet finished. We must also know that we are responsible for guarding all that God is finishing! However, we are still a work in progress. In order for us to reach that beautiful 'Finish' of God, we are going to have to allow the Holy Spirit to work within us; and we are going to have to work the works of obedience and submission. We must know that every great artist needs a great canvass. The canvass allows the artist complete and full license to paint whatever it is that He wants to paint and to finish a work of art in the manner in which he so chooses. We must be that great canvass for God! We need to not only place our lives into God's hands for Him to begin the work of salvation within us, but we also need to allow Him to paint the full character and power of Jesus Christ all over our lives. Therefore, we should be on earth; all that Jesus is in Heaven. We must never stop thirsting after God, until all that we release through our lives is Jesus, Jesus, and more Jesus. We are not finished nor will we ever be finished, until we are completely overflowing with all the righteous attitude and power of Jesus. Our God who stretched out the creation of all things over a period of seven (7) days is the same God who takes His own time to finish all that He has started within us. God took all this time in creating the universe, so that we could get a clear picture that greatness takes time to create. This also reveals to us that our becoming like Jesus, will never be an over night event. What God is making us takes awesome time and care. Although God can save us in one second, His vision of what we are to become can literally take a lifetime. This is because God is perfect, but we are not. Sometimes the work of perfecting us takes a long time, because of our lack of faith or our lack of obedience. All of this causes delays in the spiritual progress of God in our lives. Thus, just as it took several days for God to complete creation, it is going to take many seasons of God working and reworking the clay-form of our lives; until we become spirit-formed in everyway. We must prepare ourselves for the reality that God's making process takes patience and time. Furthermore, we should know that God's full intention is not just to rescue us but to make us the splitting image of our Rescuer: Jesus Christ. Therefore, we must strive to guard our new and living spirit from listening to the wrong voices and dangerous words. We need to put up 'No Trespassing' and 'No loitering' signs all around the work or works of God in our lives. We have to hide, deep in our inner spirit, all the wonderful things of God until it is the right time for them to be unveiled by Him and for Him. We have to make our lives like the gold in Fort Knox: well covered, well hidden and practically impenetrable. God has so many amazing experiences in store for us, that we must be careful to keep them secretly hidden from the prying eyes of satanic saboteurs. We have to be constantly aware that Satan is always ready to discourage any great work of God, especially one prematurely revealed. If we allow the wrong information to get into the wrong ears, then we might just end up hindering all the right purposes and plans of God. God is busy creating something so special, that it must be highly protected. He is making our lives into vessels that can carry His power, spiritual gifts, never dying spirit and ever-saving Gospel. Thus, we are very dangerous weapons against Satan's plans for humankind's annihilation. We carry life-saving Holy Spirit-breathed supplies for a satanic suffocating world. If we do not become the finished work of God's design, then millions of sinners will perish in Hell! In addition, if we not guard what God has and will finish; then millions of sinners will never enter into the Kingdom (Rule) of God's Finish. They shall remain broken and undone. We must allow God to finish us and we must guard what is finished! We should also be mindful that God never works just to start anything. Rather, He always works to finish what He has started.
