Summary

Medication Teaching Aids, 2nd edition, provides all the information the health care professional needs to teach the patient about his/her drag therapy. It is divided into three sections, beginning with teaching aids that tell the patient how to properly perform more than 20 drug administration techniques. The second section is an alphabetical arrangement of concisely written teaching aids for more than 300 of the most commonly prescribed medications taken at home. The third section covers aids on supportive measures that supplement the patient's drug therapy with important guidelines for comfort measures, dietary guideline, health monitoring, and disease prevention. The teaching aids on drugs and related topics are meant to be photocopied, reviewed with patients, and handed to them at discharge from the hospital, in a pharmacy, in a doctor's office, in an extended care facility or in any other community health care setting. The primary audiences are nurses, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
