Author Biography

The Wilderness Education Association is a non-profit membership organization that promotes wilderness education and preservation through wilderness leadership training at the college level. Affiliate organizations are accredited to offer WEA's National Standard Program for Outdoor Leadership Certification (NSP). Successful graduates of these programs receive WEA certification.

Bruce Bonney has been teaching public high school social studies at Morrisville-Eaton Central School in New York for the past twenty-two years. A WEA instructor, he is also owner and operator of Wilderness Education Services which contracts with public schools for wilderness education training. He is an adjunct professor for North Country Community College.

Jack Drury is Associate Professor and Director of Wilderness Recreation Leadership at North Country Community College in New York. He is a WEA instructor having taught WEA NSP courses annually since 1979. He is currently president of the Wilderness Education Association.
