Ryan Ries is living proof of this truth. Growing up in Los Angeles as the son of a mega-church pastor but surrounded by the music, skate, and snowboard industries, Ryan felt a tug-of-war between the church and the world. It was in the skate and music culture that he found his passion and his identity. As a result, he walked away from God and dove head first into the world, losing his way in alcohol, drugs, and sex, which led to anxiety, brokenness, and emptiness.

Ryan Ries is the co-founder of The Whosoevers Movement, an evangelistic outreach to people around the world. Ryan produces, films, and hosts The Ryan Ries Show, a podcast and nationwide radio show heard on more than 114 radio stations, and he speaks regularly at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs in Diamond Bar, California, where his messages air on FM radio around the world. For ten years, Ries was the director of skate and music marketing for internationally known brands, including C1RCA Footwear, Special Blend, and Foursquare Outerwear. In 2000, he managed one of the top skateboard teams in the world, and with a network of friends, helped bring the underground skate and music scene together to create Skate Jam 2000, the first and largest festival-style contest of its kind. For many years, worldly success and pleasure defined Ryan’s life until a near cocaine overdose caught his attention, and he surrendered his life to the Lord. Following his conversion, Ries gave up the addictions that once consumed him and now spends his life speaking to students worldwide, helping them break free from addiction and leading them to Christ.
