Author Biography


Lady Teviot is an internationally known expert on family history research. She was President of the Federation of Family History Societies from 2001 to 2011 and is now a lifetime Vice-President. She is also Chairman of the Friends of the Keep Archives in Brighton, and she is a member of the Council of the British Records Association. Lady Teviot has featured in several of the very successful ‘Heir Hunters’ series on BBC1 television. Her company is Census Searches Ltd, a professional genealogical research firm which provides research into family history, probate and media research. Lady Teviot also undertakes lecture tours in Canada and Australia, and has also toured South Africa, USA and New Zealand. In 1965 Lady Teviot married the Honourable Charles John Kerr, who three years later succeeded his father as Baron Teviot in the House of Lords.
