Author Biography

Robin Guenther, FAIA, LEED AP, a principal with Perkins + Will in New York City, is a leader in the design of sustainable, high-perfonnance healing environments. In 2005, she received The Center for Health Design's Changemaker Award for her efforts to improve and support change in the healing environment. Guenther served on the 20 I 0 AlA Guidelines for Construction of Hospitals and Health Care Facilities Revision Committee, and is on the advisory board of GreenSource magazine.

Gail Vittori, LEED AP, is codirector of the Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems, an internationally recognized nonprofit design, research, and policy organization in Austin, Texas, where she has worked since 1979. She has served as chair of the national board of directors ofthe U.S. Green Building Council and on the advisory board of Environmental Building News. Vittori received the 2002 Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management and was a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design. She was named a Green Innovator by Time magazine in 2007. Together, Guenther and Vittori serve on the LEED for Health Care Core Committee and were both instrumental in developing the Green Guide for Health Care.
