Summary

M ay we begin to disrobe the idea that we are separate, let go of beliefs that no longer serve us, and let go of any of the labels that we use to limit ourselves. Open the heart through the senses, and feel the awe for the great mystery-that which cannot be named. A mystic is someone who took the path to become awakened, and has seen and felt the truth. A mystic will point in the direction so that others can see. " The Way of the Modern Mystic may change your perceptions of mystics, and/or of yourself, and thereby change your reality." - Rev. Dr. Jeff Bentley

Excerpts

The roots of the word Mystic can even be found in the Tao Te Ching, as "that which cannot be named." Anyone with the desire and courage to accept the path of a Mystic is on a path to spiritual realization. There is no magic pill. It requires a lot of internal work to undo the conditioning and programming that has blinded our eyes from seeing the truth. This journey transcends the mind, beliefs, labels, and any identification to this earthy realm. A Mystic knows that he or she is a direct expression of source. They can see that expression all around them and what they see and experience is source as one. A Mystic is one who sees the extraordinary in the ordinary. Much of the mystical writings point to the awareness that spiritual truth cannot be put into words; one cannot come to awakening through philosophical thinking, through the intellect, or through logical thinking. The only way is to experience. If I were to describe to you what it feels like to go outside in the middle of winter and pick up snow from the ground, create a snowball, and describe what the snow feels like as I'm packing it together with my hands, I would try to use every detail that I could to help you understand my experience. However, if someone has never experienced winter, snow, or even a good packing snow, words will fall very short of the experience. The person will only have my words to go by. (The hand pointing to the moon.) Yet if the person were to set out on a solo journey and go to a place to experience winter and the feeling of packing a snowball, then the person now has the experience (seeing the moon)! I believe we are in the process of a Great Awakening. Therefore, prepare for the next step. Surrender. Let go. You will experience an annihilation of the self. It is a death experience, but the death of an illusion. If we don't let the self die, we will all physically die. If that is what is happening, then we will come to a point where that is okay. The mass shift in consciousness will then bring all of us to a knowing. We will no longer need any religious or spiritual guidance from outside ourselves, for it will already reside within us.
