Author Biography

Gregory Vogt, Ed.D., is a former junior high school science teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools in Wisconsin. He joined the NASA Aerospace Education Services Project and presented programs in schools across the Midwest. He then became the director of the Discovery World science center in Milwaukee. He later served as an educational liaison in the Astronaut Office of the NASA Johnson Space Center. Vogt is an Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He has written many trade books for schools, and is also a curriculum developer and a professional development trainer.

Deborah A Shearer, M.S., is a native Texan living in Houston. She is a former elementary science teacher in Friendswood, Texas. She became the first teacher intern in the Astronaut Office at the NASA Johnson Space Center. There, she developed curriculum related to Space Shuttle missions and evaluated NASA educational materials. After leaving NASA, Shearer became an assistant principal and later a principal in the La Porte, Texas schools, a position she held for 10 years. She has written trade books for schools, and is also a curriculum developer and a professional development trainer.
