For this third book in the Dis Voir Encounter series, Belgian director Alain Platel has decided to converge with a large number of exceptionally talented artists connected to the world of contemporary dance: choreographer and dancer Pina Bausch, founder of German troupe Tanztheater Wuppertal; Anne-Teresa de Keersmaeker, founder of the Brussels-based dance company Rosas; Belgian choreographer Wim Vandekeybus; Paris-based dancer, choreographer, and performance artist Jerome Bel; American-born Meg Stuart, founder of the Brussels based company Damaged Goods; and Swiss dramatist Christoph Marthaler. Together they consider the implications of contemporary dance in its relationship to music and theater, taking reality as the basis for directing and staging intimacy, the recurrent questions in Patel's own choreography.
