Author Biography

Nick Walker studied engineering at Cambridge, but then pursued a career in business management and marketing. He has owned Alvis cars for over 20 years, including two Speed Twenties which he has driven in eleven different European countries as well as in the United States. His current Speed Twenty is a 1934 SB model with Vanden Plas tourer coachwork. He is Vice Chairman of the Alvis Owner Club, Honorary Librarian of the Vintage Sports Car Club and Honorary Archivist of the Institute of Vehicle Technology (formerly IBCAM). Now retired and living in the Cotswolds, he has in recent years written a number of books and articles on automotive history Nick Simpson, who lives in South Wales, has spent his working life in the motor trade, and more recently has concentrated on the restoration and maintenance of Alvis cars. He has personally owned many examples of the marque and his present stable includes a 1932 Speed Twenty SA with two-seater Vanden Plas sports body. He is a long-serving member of the Alvis Owner Club, for which he is Technical Advisor
