Author Biography

The Decision Sciences Institute (Atlanta, GA) is an international professional association dedicated to advancing the science and practice of decision making. DSI's members are professional academicians and practitioners interested in the application of quantitative and behavioral methods to the problems of society. Through national, international and regional conferences, competitions, and publications, the Institute provides an international forum for presenting and sharing research in the study of decision processes across disciplines. The Institute also plays a vital role in the academic community by offering professional development activities and job placement services. The Institute, an independent non-profit educational organization, receives extensive support from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.

Merrill Warkentin (Starkville, MS) is Professor of MIS and Richard Adkerson Notable Scholar in the College of Business at Mississippi State University. His research, primarily on the impacts of organizational, contextual, and situational influences on individual user behaviors in the context of information security and privacy, has appeared in MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Computers & Security, Information Systems Journal, Communications of the ACM, Communications of the AIS, Journal of Information Systems, and other publications. The author or editor of multiple books, he chairs the UN-sponsored IFIP Working Group on IS Security Research, is VP for Publications of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and is Associate Editor for Decision Sciences and several other publications, Dr. Warkentin has served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM); has chaired several national and international conferences, and will be Program Co-Chair of the AIS Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) in 2016.
