Author Biography

Yvonne S. Freeman and David E. Freeman are the authors of the Heinemann titles Academic Language for English Language Learners and Struggling Readers; the English and Spanish versions of Teaching Reading and Writing in Spanish and English in Bilingual and Dual Language Classrooms, Second Edition; Dual Language Essentials for Teachers and Administrators; Essential Linguistics; Closing the Achievement Gap; Teaching Reading in Multilingual Classrooms; and ESL/EFL Teaching. Yvonne is a professor of bilingual education, and David is a professor of ESL and reading in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Brownsville. They present regularly at international, national, and state conferences.
