Summary

In book 3 of Flin's Destiny and "The Earth Time Continuum", Raggleroot, an angry old man who has been imprisoned deep into the earth due to Flin's great grandfather, Hovgard, is determined to destroy the cathedral and all those in it with his deranged pits and seeds he has been engineering for decades. Meanwhile, Blade and his men have taken control of Clover Cavern, leaving the leprechauns to slowly lose their magical powers and at some point, they will surely die. But if you thought that was bad, the Earth Time Continuum which is the heart of mother earth, has been stolen and without it the earth, both down under and up top, will cease to exist. Is it destiny that this young man find and restore these lost treasures before it's too late, or will all come to an end?

Excerpts

"'Kay then," Luftin said. "Let's put all the torches out but one, mine." They all warily looked at him. "It's not that I don' trus' none of ya, it's jist, welp --it's jist that I, I don' trust none of ya, includin' meself! Cause if'n one spark falls into that there lake," he gulped deeply, "we're all, whad you say, Pilt?""Fried chicken.""Yep, that's it, fried chicken. Und we don' want none of that.""Why don't we just put all the torches out?" asked Cretchit, hoping to decrease his chances of becoming a piece of fried chicken."Welp, Cretchit, we got no way of relightin' 'em. Bisides, we need ta be able ta see where we're goin'.""I wish I had some of Delly's Dragon's Breath," mumbled Flin. Everyone looked at him as if he had snakes coming out his nose. "I'll explain later.""Ever'one, hop into the boat --hold it! Let me rephrase that -- ever'one step, lightly, inta the boat."Pilt was nearest to the log. He stared at it reluctantly. "I'd rather someone else stepped in first.""Come on, Pilt, all of us are getting in," urged Flin."So, you go first," retorted Pilt."'e's right, Pilt. We ull 'ave to get in, so don' much matter who goes first."Gingerly, Pilt climbed in. "It's not bad, at least it's not sinking.""That's the spirit, lad. Now ever'one else climb aboard."The rest of them cautiously climbed into the small make-shift canoe, all but Luftin."How are you going to get in while you're holding the torch? You could hand it to one of us," suggested Flowell with much concern."No, no. I'd rather if'n somethin' goes awry that I's be the one ta go. I'll just have to do it careflee, that's all," Luftin nervously tried several different ways to climb aboard with his wooden leg. "U'll jist step here, no, probly better if'n I stepped over there then onto the boat. But then if I --""I've never seen him this nervous before," Flowell whispered to Flin."Righ' here then," he said as he raised his wooden leg and stepped into the boat. "Whoa!" he shouted as his wooden leg slid on the slippery surface, sending his feet flying above his head and into the air. He landed on his back inside the log, his hand holding the torch dangerously close to the lake's surface. "Tha' was close," he gasped, as he struggled to yank the torch away from the gassy surface and into the boat as many small beads of sweat lit up into flames on his forehead from the reflecting torchlight.
