Summary

Focusing on the boyfriends, husbands, exes, heroes, celebrities, fathers, sons, complete strangers, and even bandmates of songwriters, this handbook unveils who sparked 50 of rock's greatest songs. Answering burning questions such as Who was Dolly Parton referring to when she sang "I Will Always Love You"?and When Elton John's songwriting partner Bernie Taupin had him proclaim "The Bitch Is Back", did he realize that he was singing about himself?, this trivia collection is a music buff's dream. It explains how each boy or man inspired the song written about him, when the song was released, and the impact it had on the charts, the performer, and the subject himself. Accompanying mini biographies bring readers up-to-date on how the songs affected the men and their present whereabouts while sidebars contain trivia on the performers and recording history.
