Author Biography

MARY KELLETT is Senior Lecturer in Childhood Studies and Director of the Childhood and Youth Programme in the Faculty of Education and Language Studies, The Open University, UK. Mary gained experience as a social worker and primary school teacher before embarking on a post-doctoral academic career. She established the Children's Research Centre at the Open University in January 2004, the first of its kind in the UK, where she leads a team of eight staff supporting children to undertake their own research.
