Summary

This is the first monograph to specifically focus on the topic, providing a coherent resource for researchers and developers alike. The initial chapters introduce readers to the synthesis and optical properties of various conjugated polyelectrolytes. This is followed by focus chapters on the applications of these materials in optical sensing and imaging, while the final section addresses the emerging applications of conjugated polyelectrolytes in optoelectronic devices, concluding with an in-depth discussion of the underlying mechanisms that contribute to the exceptional functionality of this new class of molecular materials. The editors and contributors are all pioneers and experts in this expanding field, and this book brings together chemists, materials scientists, physicists and device engineers to provide a thorough understanding of conjugated polyelectrolytes and their technology potential.
