Summary

While there exist some differences between concepts in embedded systems, this book argues that in fact there is much they share in common. The first part of the book covers Cooperating Object applications and the currently available application scenarios. The second part discusses paradigms for algorithms and interactions, covering four thematic areas where algorithms and interactions can be mapped. The third part covers various types of vertical system functions, including data aggregation, resource management and time synchronization, and the fourth part outlines system architecture and programming models.

Author Biography

Michel Banâtre is the research director at the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control. Anibal Ollero is a research leader at Association of Research and Industrial Cooperation of Andalucía in Spain. Adam Wolisz is a professor at the Telecommunication Networks Group at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
