Summary

Kate Pelham was supposed to grow up to be a proper young lady in Boston, not serve as the only doctor in the wilderness of northern Wisconsin. Despite her father's wishes, Kate was determined to become a doctor-not an easy task for a woman in 1913.

Author Biography

Rebecca Hogue Wojahn is an elementary school library media specialist in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is the author of several books for children, including Evan Early and the Follow That Food Chain series, and has written articles for LibrarySparks, Book Links, School Library Journal, and the Children's Literature Network.
