Summary

How do we dress the past? From Minoan ladies, Scythian warriors and Roman merchants, to Vikings, medieval saints, Renaissance noblemen and Danish peasants, today there is a growing interest in ancient and historical costume, as well as an increasing need in museums, the media and the private sphere, to render portrayals of costume as accurately as possible. To fuel this need, scholars carrying out prehistoric and modern textile research are required to present the results of their research in a much more accessible, user-friendly manner.
