Ebro 1938 es una aproximación novelada a la mayor batalla de la Guerra Civil Española que tuvo lugar en el cauce bajo del valle del Ebro y que se desarrolló durante los meses de julio a noviembre de 1938. Esta novela histórica está sumamente documentada y, a la vez, apuesta por un estilo literario peculiar y hasta arriesgado: es coral, cambia de perspectiva constantemente para focalizar su atención en los distintos personajes históricos que intervienen, para casi oír lo que ocurre en las trincheras y en los frentes de ambos bandos. Esta forma de contar, asimismo, le permite al autor dosificar la tensión narrativa para generar momentos de sosiego en aquellos tiempos de batallas tan angustiosos como intensos por propia naturaleza.
