Summary

This fascinating selection of essays brings together fifteen leading philosophers who discuss what it means to live according to certain philosophies of life. From Eastern philosophies (such as Taoism or Buddhism), through classical Western philosophies (such as Stoicism or Epicureanism), or four great religions (Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism and Islam), to contemporary philosophies (such as existentialism, the pragmatism, secular humanism, or altruism), each of the contributors gives us a lively and personal account of how they all find the practice of the philosophical tradition of their choice meaningful. Choose Your Philosophy of Life not only provides a guide for readers to choose their own philosophy of life, but also a timely portrait of what it means to lead a life under scrutiny in the 21st century.
