Author Biography

Jeffrey S. Kreutzer, Ph.D., is a Professor with appointments in the Departments of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia Campus in Richmond. Within the Department of PM&R, he serves as Director of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology. With an active clinical practice, Dr. Kreutzer coordinates the delivery of psychological and neuropsychological services to both inpatients and outpatients who have a wide variety of neurological disabilities. Board certified in rehabilitation psychology, he has more than two decades of experience as a specialist in brain injury rehabilitation. Dr. Kreutzer is active in research and has co-authored more than 130 publications, most in the area of traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation. An Editor-In-Chief of the international journals, NeuroRehabilitation and Brain Injury, he has also served as co-editor or author of twelve books focused on vocational rehabilitation, community reintegration, behavior management, and cognitive rehabilitation.John DeLuca, Ph.D., is the Director of Neuroscience Research at the Kessler Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education Corporation (KMRREC), and a Professor in the Departments of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Neurosciences at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ-NJMS). He is a licensed Psychologist in the states of New Jersey and New York. Dr. DeLuca directs the Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Laboratory at KMRREC, and is director of the post-doctoral fellows program in Neuropsychology. He is currently studying disorders of memory and information processing in a variety of clinical populations, and has published over 200 articles, abstracts and chapters in these areas. He is the editor of "Fatigue as a Window to the Brain" published by MIT Press. Dr. DeLuca is the recipient of early career awards for his research from both the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He recently received the Distinguished Researcher Award from The New Jersey Psychological Association. Dr. DeLuca is Board Certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Rehabilitation Psychology. He is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.Bruce Caplan, Ph.D., ABPP, FACRM, is Board-Certified in both clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology, and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, and American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Caplan serves as Associate Editor of Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, and is a member of the Editorial Boards of Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Psychology. He previously served as Editor of Rehabilitation Psychology. He is Past President of the Philadelphia Neuropsychology Society and of Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology) of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Caplan was a founding member of the American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology. Currently in independent practice in clinical neuropsychology, he was formerly Professor and Chief Psychologist in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Jefferson Medical College.
